Hannah’s Bullying Story

by Mawi on September 7, 2011

I’m speaking at Chandler-Gilbert Community College today and just met an inspiring young woman named Hannah.  When she was growing up, Hannah was bullied for losing her hair, being Jewish, and generally, for being different. She shared her story in this 3-minute video.

She’s really inspiring. I like her positive attitude and her willingness to keep moving on in life, instead of abandoning life

Hannah – What a wonderful gift you have given all of us! I am a teacher, and very concerned about bullying. You show such grace, love and forgiveness. Not to mention courage! I am so sorry that you had to go through all that pain. It must have been so awful and incredibly lonely. Yet somehow you turn it into a beautiful ending by standing up for what you believe in, walking away because of your wise beliefs, and then empowering all who hear your message with your wisdom and bravery. You are awesome. You always have been. I would like to think that one day, the girl who did such a cruel thing to you, will allow herself to learn from it and pay her lesson forward – helping other bullies stop bullying. My admiration for you is deep. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you.
